George Moore, Jr. Becomes NAMI Sharing Hope/FaithNet Facilitator, Strengthening Legacy Reentry Foundation’s Commitment to Mental Health Advocacy

Waukegan, IL – March 6, 2025 – Legacy Reentry Foundation is proud to announce that its founder, George Moore, Jr., has officially become a NAMI Sharing Hope/FaithNet Facilitator, furthering the organization’s commitment to mental health advocacy for justice-impacted individuals.

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Sharing Hope and FaithNet programs focus on educating and empowering faith-based and African American communities on mental health topics. As a certified facilitator, Pastor Moore is now equipped to lead essential conversations that break the stigma surrounding mental illness while integrating faith-based support and resources.

A Critical Step for Justice-Impacted Individuals

Many individuals transitioning from incarceration face mental health challenges, including PTSD, depression, anxiety, and emotional trauma. Legacy Reentry Foundation has long recognized that successful reentry requires more than just employment and housing assistance—mental wellness is a crucial component.

“This certification allows us to better serve our community by providing the tools, education, and faith-driven support needed to address the unique mental health struggles of returning citizens,” said Pastor Moore. “By bringing these conversations into our workshops and outreach efforts, we can offer hope, healing, and a stronger foundation for long-term success.”

How This Strengthens Legacy’s Impact

Through his role as a NAMI Sharing Hope/FaithNet Facilitator, Pastor Moore will:

  • Lead mental health awareness discussions tailored for justice-impacted individuals and their families.

  • Integrate faith-based mental health support into Legacy’s reentry programs, including the Anchored: Reentry and Mental Health Initiative.

  • Reduce stigma and increase access to mental health resources in underserved communities.

  • Foster partnerships with mental health organizations, expanding Legacy’s network of support for returning citizens.
